CIAMLabs # 2 - "Cirque et objets connectés ", a collaborative and transdisciplinary innovation event, will take place in Aix-en-Provence from 19 to 23 May 2017.
The CIAMLabs is an innovative and transdisciplinary project launched by the Centre International des Arts en Mouvement, and will be organized for this new edition on the theme "Circus & Connected Objects". The principle of this event is to invite 4 teams of 5 students and professionals from complementary disciplines (innovation management, engineering, computer programming, design, and sport) to reflect together for 4 days on an innovation related to the circus arts.
The 2015 edition focused on circus architectures with great specialists and students in architecture, engineering, technical direction, scenography and business school were invited. The 2017 edition, within “Marseille Provence European Capital of Sport”, and in partnership with French Tech Culture and The Camp, aims to explore the links imaginable between circus arts and connected objects not only as a cultural practice (wider democratization of the circus arts) but also as a sports practice (physical follow-up, medical intensive practice).
This last point will be addressed by the outgoing FEDEC President Donald Lehn who will take part to the conference on 20th May, to talk about the transmission of the circus arts with a historical perspective.
The 4 days will be punctuated by public highlights:
• Conferences on the theme "Circus & Connected Objects" on 20th May from 2 to 5 pm – at the CIAM - Free, by reservation (http://ciam.placeminute.com)
