In France, the administrative merger of two initially distinct regions, Languedoc Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées, gave birth to a single large region: the Occitanie region.

Today in this area, two FEDEC schools will participate in expanding the training offer.

After a first professional meeting for all the actors in July 2017 initiated by the DRAC Occitanie and the Occitanie / Midi Pyrénées-Méditerranée region around the question: Which circus: how do we talk about the circus? Which circus are we talking about? the region organised a videoconference with the structuring operators of the circus sector in the Occitanie region: 2 circus centers (Circuit in Auch and La Verrerie in Alès), 2 training centers (Balthazar in Montpellier and Le Lido in Toulouse) and one venue (La Grainerie in Toulouse).

The permanent conference of circus arts in Occitanie was held on 20 October 2017, as part of the opening of the 30th edition of the CIRCa Festival with the theme "Supporting the circus sector better, promoting its development." Many actors and official partners joined together for circus: training-creation-diffusion.

Through all these exchanges, this big region appeared as a key region for circus development in France and Europe.

Good luck for circus in Occitanie!
