From 19th until 25th October 2019, FEDEC held its Encounters as part as the 32nd edition of CIRCa Festival in Auch (France).
FEDEC Encounters at CIRCa means circa 170 people from about fifteen different countries gathering to contribute to the international dimension of this festival, a hub for contemporary circus creation. Together they form an ephemeral “European Circus Arts School”.
The 13th Encounters presented a rich programme for all FEDEC members their students, teachers and directors with, of course, all the festival’s events, circus shows and professionals meetings organised by the CIRCa Festival.

The CIRCLE are the performances of circus students members of FEDEC’s schools. This year, for the 13th edition of the CIRCLE project, students coming from 11 FEDEC schools, located in 7 countries, presented shows created during creative workshops.
The performances took place downtown in the Maison de Gascogne. :
At the end of each performance the public was invited to meet and discuss with students and members of the teaching staff on the educational and creation approaches of the performances.
New features implemented following the evaluation of CIRCLE 2018 participants:
- The first day: the organization of a welcome drink in the continuity of the welcome meeting with students and their supervisors.

The 8 CIRCLE shows of the schools presented on 1 day in 4 different venues as part of FRESH CIRCUS#5 organized by CIRCa and Circostrada were followed by a discussion which gave the floor to professional circus schools in order to highlight the impact of their work on their territory.
•• REFLECT Lab – Training for teachers

The last REFLECT Project Teachers' Lab met throughout the week for a training session on the process of creating a collective show. The pedagogical coordinator, Cat Boot teacher at Circomedia (UK) has conducted exchange workshops with about twenty teachers as well as meetings with artists programmed by the CIRCa festival.

FEDEC Managing Board and the team took stock of the year 2019 and presented the work program 2020.
The day of the FEDEC GA was moved to Tuesday so as not to collide with the FFEC GA and allow French members to participate in both.
•• Official closing event of REFLECT project (last partners' meeting)

The REFLECT project - REFLections and Exchanges for Circus Arts Teachers, led by FFEC and FEDEC - concluded on Thursday 24 October with a review of the actions carried out and the results obtained after 30 months of exchanges between peers.
- FEDEC has set up a partnership with ACaPA school in Tilburg (NL) to welcome 4 students in rigging. During their internship week at CIRCa, they assisted Gaston Parraga, FEDEC technical director, in the rigging of the various shows and were notably responsible for FRESH CIRCLE.
- A first meeting of the technical directors of different FEDEC member schools was organized Wednesday 23 October to identify their needs that can not be solved at the local or national level. FEDEC has committed to offer this group a framework in the coming months.
