École de cirque de Québec, a member of the Association des écoles supérieures d'art du Québec (ADESAQ) and the European Federation of Professional Circus Schools (FEDEC), is honoured to announce the arrival of Sarah Poole as Director of Advanced Training, which includes the DEC, DEE and Cirque Études Secondaires courses at the school in the heart of Quebec City's Limoilou district.

As part of the strengthening of its advanced training activities in the circus arts, the Board of Directors of École de cirque de Québec has appointed Sarah Poole, who taught aerial disciplines at the National Circus School of Montreal for 14 years and was involved in the creation of original shows for Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize, among others, to the position of Director of Advanced Training as of today, Monday, April 25. She will coordinate the existing team of 7 permanent employees and nearly 35 teachers.

In parallel to her activities at the Circus School, Sarah is completing her research in circus pedagogy for her Master's degree at Concordia University and has a first graduate certificate in educational leadership from McGill University. Originally an American, she moved to Quebec from New York in 2003. This is great news for the École de cirque de Québec and for its future classes of students, and the entire school team is very happy to welcome her to further strengthen its advanced training.

"I am honoured to join the ECQ team. Every day, its teachers bring all their deep knowledge, their rich and varied experiences, and their passion for the circus arts to support the development of young aspiring circus artists. Circus arts are flourishing in Limoilou and I look forward to being part of this community."
