In the month of July 2017, an impressive armada of Tall Ships will be anchored in Quebec City on both St-Lawrence riverbanks. The École de cirque de Québec (ÉCQ) will be joining this adventure by holding a creation residency on the theme: MASTS AND RIGGING from June 19th to July 17th 2017.
The residency results (two original creations of about 30 minutes each) will be presented alternatively three times daily on two different sites in the river surroundings. Each crew will be made up of ten circus artists. Each creation will be presented 3 times daukt July 18 through July 30th 2017.
Like the circus world and the sailboats from Europe, America and all around the world, the ECQ wants to compose a distribution from various nationalities. Students from schools in the European Federation of Professional Circus Schools (FEDEC) are invited to participate in this project. This event is a unique opportunity to gather people from various circus schools around one project.
In the process, each establishment mandates one person responsible for communicating with the Quebec team, to register the candidates, to accompany them in legal procedures and in trip preparation.
The call for applications has been launched. Deadline to apply: February 15, 2017.
