ESCOLA DE CIRC ROGELIO RIVEL (ECRR)

The only professional circus arts school in Catalonia, which provides non-certified degree courses (circus training is not recognised by  the Spanish government).

Founded in 1999 by a group of professionals concerned about the lack of training facilities in Catalonia.

Goals: Teaching and commitment to the recognition of Circus Arts and circus artists.

Cooperation through the European project "Circ-que-o!" with the Midi-Pyrénées  and Aragon regions.

Preparatory School: Discover, learn how to learn, listen, share, marvel. Physical training, acrobatics, handstands, acrobalance, trampoline, dance, positioning, play acting, aerials

Workshops: Creating, manipulation, safety, massage, history of circus.

Circus skills : Cradle, teeter board, Chinese pole, stunts, juggling, balancing, tight wire.

Showcases, end-of-year show.

Professional School: Creation of an act: control of technique and equipment, general programme of basic techniques. Working on an act: technical trainer and artistic adviser; educational supervision; regular performances; stages and internships.

Curriculum offered:

• Preparatory school (2202 hours in 2 years, 42 students)

• Professional school, especialisation course (1255 hours, 1 year, 7 students): Programme available to download in Spanish and Catalan.
   

• Supervisor/Director of leisure activities ( 60 hours, certified as a Diploma delivered by the Youth Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya)

Admission: Auditions in late June/early July.
School year from mid-September to mid-June.

in 2012: Preparatory programme auditions on 25 & 26 June and 27 & 28 June / Specialisation course auditions on 27 & 28 June. Application deadline: 4th June, 2012.
