Italian Federation of Circus Arts Schools

FISAC's double objective is the acknowledgment of  both the profession of circus artist and the professional vocational training paths that lead to it.

It is comprised of 6 circus arts trainings centres in Italy: 4 vocational training schools and 2 leisure schools thateither lead the network of leisure schools or monitor circus arts instructors training programmes.

It was created to represent the circus arts training sector in Italy both at a national and international levels.

The federation contributes to the development of education and training in circus arts aiming to establish circus standards and, in particular, to:

  • disseminate and share national standard of safety at work in circus arts
  • develop pedagogical programmes in circus disciplines
  • develop best practices of injury prevention
  • standardise admission processes and eligibility requirements for students entering circus schools
  • include in the vocational path practical circus disciplines besides theoretical ones in vocational pathways, in order to develop an artistic consciousness in the students.

Main activities:

  • sensitize National Institutions around culture, education, training and leisure
  • negotiate national insurance to compensate for injuries in  circus activities
  • share all legislative, training, professional and technical information in the circus field.

Affiliated to AGIS, Associazione Generale Italian dello Spettacolo (Italian Federation of Shows and Performance).
