Membership

Becoming a FEDEC member means being part of a dynamic network of professional circus schools, taking part in international projects and exchanges in order to share experience and to improve and develop circus arts training.

Admission procedure

Full members

  1. The candidate school writes to the FEDEC office to initiate its application.
  2. The candidate school receives an application form to fill in. This form deals with all organisational and pedagogical aspects of the school: legal and administrative structure, budget, infrastructure and equipment, teaching staff, security, medical follow-up, pedagogical contents of the training.
  3. Each school receives a code of ethics to sign. By signing it, the school commits itself to respect all of the stated principles.
  4. After the FEDEC receives the school's application form, a FEDEC representative chosen by the Board makes a visit to the candidate school. He/she meets the teaching staff and the students of the school. The representative has a "candidate guide", a questionnaire that makes the visit objective and completes any data that may be missing from the application form. Expenses of this visit are shared between FEDEC and the candidate school: FEDEC pays travel and catering costs for the visitor and the applying school pays the accommodation costs for the visitor (in a three star hotel).
  5. The FEDEC representative reports to the Board on his/her visit.
  6. The whole file of the candidate school is shown to the FEDEC general assembly, in the presence of the applying school. The General Assembly, on the Board's advice, decides whether to admit the school as an effective member.
  7. The membership is official as soon as the membership fees have been paid.
