ROTTERDAM CIRCUS ARTS (RCA) - CODARTS
The Bachelor's degree programme at Rotterdam Circus Arts is the first programme for circus artists ioperating at a professional level in The Netherlands. We train you to become a professional performing artist with at least one circus speciality. In addition, you are taught a broad basis of circus techniques to ensure your versatility, as well as dance and drama. After successfully completing your studies, you will be capable of working as independent independent circus artist or as a member of a collective.
After graduation, you can work in various market segments, such as like cirque nouveau, variety theatre, the entertainment industry, site-specific or street theatre and traditional circus within or outside the Netherlands.
Together with Rotterdam Conservatoire and Rotterdam Dance Academy, Rotterdam Circus Arts is part of Codarts, University for the Arts – a small-scale professional university which offers high-quality arts education.

Curriculum offered:
- Bachelor of Circus Arts: a four year full-time programme. (50 students)
Admission: Candidates must possess a secondary school diploma. Everyone who is considering doing auditioning for Rotterdam Circus Arts is invited to come to a participation day. An appointment can be made by sending an email to circusarts@codarts.nl.
Auditions: Late March and end of June/early July. Required competencies include artistic expression, technical circus skills, physical potential, stamina, ability to improvise, team spirit, and ability to learn.
2012 Auditions: 29th and 30th March and 28th and 29 June. Application deadline: 28th February for the first session and 31st May for the second session.
School year from late August to early July.
