Circus Animator Project Development Officer (M/F/X)

Job opportunity

The Marchin Circus School, a key partner of Latitude 50, is looking for a multi-disciplinary circus instructor (juggling, balancing, acrobatics, aerial acrobatics) with a disability and a project development role, available from September 2024.

Function

Preparation and supervision of multidisciplinary circus workshops (juggling, balancing, aerial acrobatics) for children, teenagers and adults, as part of school and extra-curricular workshops and courses during certain school holidays.
Preparation and supervision of the creation workshop (workshop for keen students, creation of a show and numbers that are presented on various occasions. Occasional work with outside contributors and artists in residence at Latitude 50; organised outings, meetings, events, professional and amateur shows, in Belgium and abroad).
Preparation and supervision of workshops for adults with disabilities. Participation in ASBL projects.
Project development officer.

Profile

  • Circus arts animator, circus artist, socio-cultural animator, educator, psychomotor therapist, physical education teacher, etc.
  • Mastery of several circus techniques (juggling, balancing, acrobatics, aerial) and the ability to teach them are essential.
  • Knowledge of group management and leadership, excellent contact with children and people with disabilities.
  • Rigour and flexibility.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • APE passport required.
  • Language skills: good knowledge of French.
     

Practical details

  • 28h30/38h week (3/4 time)
  • Schedule: Mainly daytime. Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday/Thursday or Friday. Some school holidays for training courses.
  • Renewable fixed-term contract under EPA conditions
  • Salary: In accordance with the FWB 4.1 CP 329.02 statutory rates for activity leaders.
