FEDEC member since 2019

Ludi Circens Escuela de Circo was founded in 2016. Since its creation, the school has been dedicated to the didactics of circus arts as a workshop for all ages becoming in a short time an important training center and dissemination of circus arts in the southern area of Buenos Aires.

The professional career in circus arts proposes the training of artists and professionals of excellence in circus techniques in their various disciplines, applications and annexes in both their traditional formats and their new contemporary branches. It uses production and execution as a learning methodology forming artists capable of producing, directing and participating in shows with high artistic and technical content.
Graduates are expected to be prepared to create, design and modify spaces and situations in the modes and codes of representation of circus arts at national and international level in companies, schools, public or private institutions.

There are various complementary contents that are intended to enrich this professional training and to train versatile artists allowing them to be interpreters and develop their own creativity.
The training has a curriculum with a strong theoretical, technical and practical approach that includes subjects such as anatomy, biomechanics, injury prevention, rhythm and music, nutrition, etc.

Training offered

  • Title: Interprete de las Artes del Circo – Circus performer
  • Duration: 3 years
  • Level (at the end of the training): Professional

Ludi Circens offers a complete training of 3 years duration where the student will attend a minimum of 14 hours weekly between training and theoretical subjects. We believe that a professional in circus arts must have knowledge related to the human body and its functioning, so we have a strong theoretical load in matters of anatomy, biomechanics, injury prevention, nutrition, safety and first aid throughout the career.

There are 3 core subjects in the professional career that will be taken from the beginning to the end: dance, floor acrobatics and air acrobatics, along with other subjects such as juggling, acting, rhythmic and music, stage techniques, circus problems, etc. All these subjects are designed so that the student achieves knowledge in holistic terms of art, that they understand their numbers or show as a whole, and that he knows all the current technological tools that can enrich their performance.

The final stage of the professional career consists in the creation of a group show with all the classmates, a one-person show, and the research and creation of a project that manages to contribute to the international scientific literature of the circus arts, a material extremely scarce in Latin America. It is expected that the student, after taking all theoretical subjects, has the ability to select a topic to investigate, for example: The relationship between injuries and air activity, or how the circus can help people with different abilities, or how the circus benefits the body and the mind, or the characteristics and possibilities of the social circus in a deprived neighborhood, etc. The student is expected to develop their own research work and be able to expose it to their peers and teachers with scientific, social, cultural and own or compiled experiences. This work will be the final thesis and will be integrated into the school's bibliography for further study.
