The reputation of the school is based on its quality teaching, the richness of its teachers' backgrounds and its ability to connect its students to the reality of the professional world.

Cirque Jules Verne has a unique structure in France: it serves both as a circus arts centre and a preparatory school. Through its preparatory class for advanced studies, it offers a preparation for the entrance examinations of national and international advanced schools of artistic creation.

The École du Cirque Jules Verne, with its strong history and its position as part of the Pôle National Cirque, has developed a unique identity in the field of circus arts education in France.

The quality of its teaching has granted the École du Cirque Jules Verne's courses undisputed national and international recognition.

Preparatory training for higher education:

The reputation of the school is based on its quality teaching, the richness of its teachers' backgrounds and its ability to connect its students to the reality of the professional world.

The main objective of the core curriculum is to teach a foundation of acrobatic techniques, as well as dance and acting classes. Mastering these fundamentals is guarantee of a perfect understanding of the different circus specialties and the key to developing a specialty apparatus in the best conditions.

Each student is thus the object of a specific accompaniment in order to help them progress and develop an artistic vision of their practice.

The learning of acrobatic fundamentals is complemented by theoretical classes to help students understand the issues related to being a circus artist: safety, health and knowledge of the cultural sector.

Partnership with the University of Artois:

As of September 2022, the preparatory training of the École du Cirque Jules Verne is recognized by the University of Artois. This new partnership will result in a new offer:

  • Validation of 120 ECTS
  • Possibility of integrating the Licence 3 Arts du Spectacle of the Faculty of Arts of Arras at the end of the training
  • Possibility to obtain equivalences in other faculties
  • Students in the preparatory program have student status, which allows them to access CROUS benefits.

The program lasts two years, from September to July, and includes 1900 hours of classes, internships and artistic creation.

It welcomes 12 students, selected in two stages: on the basis of a portfolio and then on the basis of an audition. The selection criteria are as follows: previous practice of artistic and sports disciplines, desire for professional training in the field of live performance, particularly in circus arts.
