Flying Fruit Fly Circus

Full member

The Flying Fruit Fly Circus is Australia’s National Youth Circus, recognised as a leading youth arts company.

It is based in Albury-Wodonga, a regional centre on the border of New South Wales and Victoria, three hours inland from Melbourne.

During its meeting held on 28th October 2016, the FEDEC General Assembly has admitted the Flying Fruit Fly Circus as an associate member. The FEDEC recognises only the Development and Certificate III Program for secondary school students, training programme for 16–18 years old students as an associate member of its network.

The unique circus program has a worldwide reputation for innovation and excellence. It develops young artists aged between 8-18 in the creative arts by being one of Australia’s most celebrated producers of dynamic contemporary circus works for young people and families, touring nationally and internationally, and as an educator in circus and interdisciplinary art forms. The company is dedicated to advancing and innovating the art form of circus, creating exciting emerging artists for the industry and acting as a leader for the youth circus sector and its regional community.

The circus curriculum is supported by two academic partners, who provide general education and pastoral care. The select-entry Flying Fruit Fly Circus School is exclusive to circus students between years 3 and 9. It’s home is a purpose built annexe of the Wodonga Middle Years College in Victoria.

The senior students in years 10 through 12 enjoy one of the widest choices of courses and activities available in the region at the Wodonga Secondary Senior College, who also co-deliver the nationally accredited Certificate III in Circus Arts course.

The Flying Fruit Fly Circus is a member of the Australian Roundtable for Arts Training Excellence
