What is circusnext?

circusnext intends to build an ecosystem for artistic risk-taking, research and experimentation. On an annual basis, circusnext launches a call for projects to identify and support emerging circus authors throughout Europe. Its primary goal is to care for and encourage the development of new generations of creative spirits in the circus sector, who dare to experiment and question the current artistic boundaries. This open call is intended for emerging artists who are currently developing an upcoming circus creation.

Who can apply?

  • Emerging circus author, no age limit, from all disciplines
  • Creation in progress, no premiere before September 2027
  • With a 1st or 2nd creation in France, Belgium, the Netherlands
  • With a 1st, 2nd or 3rd creation in other Creative Europe countries and Switzerland

How to apply?

  • The applications are open until 9th March 2026 at noon (CET).
  • Fill in the online form to share general information about yourself and your project.
  • Upload the following documents through the online form:
    • Project presentation (template accessible here)
    • 10-minute video
    • Artistic dossier or creation material
    • Provisional creation calendar
