How can art venues move beyond access as an add-on to truly embed inclusivity into every aspect of their work?
This workshop explores Battersea Arts Centre's journey towards becoming a relaxed venue — a place where everyone is welcomed on their own terms.
Together, we’ll unpack the ethical and curatorial tensions that arise when striving for proactive inclusivity, and consider how these challenges can lead to richer, more representative creative spaces. Join us to explore how policy, practice, and programming can align to create a culture of genuine welcome.
I’m a producer, programmer and curator of contemporary performance based in London. I work closely with artists and organisations, both locally and internationally, to create impactful and affecting live performance experiences which challenge perspectives, galvanize action, and spark joy. I strive to create productive and collaborative working environments. I think process is as valuable as product and I lead projects with compassion, empathy, and curiosity. Community building is a key tenet of my practice.
