Circus Arts Teacher (3-month replacement position)

📅 Replacement teacher for a 3-month period from 3 November 2026 to 3 February 2027

Founded by Léa Pouzet in 2013, “Cirque à tous les étages” has been based in the Drôme region of France for over 10 years, offering weekly circus arts classes, workshops, and educational/community outreach programs.
Classes and workshops take place in Aouste-sur-Sye, in a bright and spacious studio providing a very pleasant working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching weekly multidisciplinary circus classes (parent-child groups, children, teenagers, and adults).

  • Teaching aerial specialization classes, open training sessions, and circus arts classes for teens/adults.

  • Leading circus workshops on selected weekends.

  • Managing logistics and maintaining teaching equipment.

Profile

  • Versatility in teaching acrobatics, juggling, aerial disciplines, and object balancing.

  • Strong technical and pedagogical knowledge of aerial apparatuses.

  • Ability to prepare educational sessions and independently manage groups.

  • Required qualities: organization, reliability, communication skills, initiative, responsiveness, autonomy, and dynamism.

  • Ability to ensure proper maintenance and functioning of equipment.

  • Driver’s license preferred.

  • BAFA qualification and previous experience teaching or leading circus classes appreciated.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Tuesday: 5pm–9pm

  • Wednesday: 9:45am–8:30pm

  • 11 Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the replacement period

  • Workload: 13 hours/week
  • Rate: €40/hour (incl. tax)
  • Total compensation for the replacement period (November–February): 143 hours × €40 = €5,720 incl. tax + 1 or 2 workshop weekends paid at €40/hour incl. tax
  • Status: freelance / service contract
  • School holiday breaks included.
  • Housing support available if needed.
