OPEN CALL: FEDEC is looking for emerging artists for Imaginarius 2027

Call for participation

Imaginarius, the performing arts festival in public space in Santa Maria da Feira, and FEDEC are joining forces to support a new generation of circus artists in creating and presenting work for public space.

Up to 4 original projects will be selected to be part of the official programme of Imaginarius 2027.

Who can apply?

The open call is open to:

  • second-year students from a FEDEC member school;
  • recent graduates from a FEDEC member school, up to 24 months after graduation.

Projects may involve 1 to 4 performers (solo, duo, trio or quartet) and must be conceived for outdoor presentation in public space.

What is offered?

Selected projects will be presented twice during the festival and will benefit from:

  • €450 per person for the two performances and one workshop;
  • a travel contribution of up to €1,200 per person, depending on the project's country of origin;
  • accommodation and meals for the artistic team;
  • shuttle service between Porto Airport and Santa Maria da Feira for participants travelling by air;
  • technical and production support;
  • an on-site rehearsal period before the performances;
  • the opportunity to lead a workshop for the local community;
  • access to the Imaginarius PRO professional programme.

Timeline

1 October – 13 November 2026: Application period

15 December 2026: Notification of results

18–20 May 2027: On-site rehearsals and workshops

20–22 May 2027: Imaginarius 2027 festival
