Sul Filo del Circo Festival

A collaboration supporting the next generation of circus artists

Sul Filo del Circo is a contemporary circus festival organised by Accademia Cirko Vertigo in Grugliasco, near Turin (ITA).

As the festival progressively develops into a space dedicated to emerging artists from professional circus schools, it offers a natural setting for FEDEC to support young artists as they take their first steps into professional life.

Since 2026, FEDEC and Accademia Cirko Vertigo have joined forces to create performance opportunities for students and recent graduates from FEDEC member schools, giving them the chance to present their work in a professional festival environment.

A stage for emerging artists

The collaboration takes the form of a FEDEC Cabaret, bringing together selected emerging artists from FEDEC schools in a programme of short circus acts.

Students in their final year of training and young artists who have recently graduated are invited to showcase their work on stage, in front of a public audience as well as circus and performing arts professionals.

The cabaret format creates a vibrant space where different artistic practices, disciplines and perspectives meet. Each artist brings their own universe to the stage, while becoming part of a larger international programme showcasing the diversity and creativity of the FEDEC network.

From school to professional life

Performing at a professional festival can be an important step in an emerging artist's journey. The collaboration between FEDEC and Sul Filo del Circo aims to create more than a performance opportunity: it provides a space to gain professional experience, develop visibility and build connections within the circus sector.

The project also brings together artists, representatives of circus schools, programmers, producers and other performing arts professionals, encouraging encounters and potential future collaborations.

For FEDEC, this partnership is part of a broader commitment to supporting the professional integration of the next generation of circus artists and creating bridges between education, artistic practice and the professional sector.
