An international laboratory for creating together

CRECE is an international contemporary circus creation laboratory led by Carampa Circus School in Madrid.

Every year, CRECE brings together young artists from national and international circus schools for an intensive creative process supported by recognised professionals from the sector.

Over several weeks, participants experiment, research, compose and build an original creation together, which is then presented to the public at Teatro Circo Price in Madrid.

Learning through creation

CRECE offers an experience that goes beyond a simple performance opportunity. Artists do not come to present an act they have already created: they come to create together.

The project encourages artistic research, experimentation and collaboration between artists from different backgrounds and countries. Circus meets other performing arts disciplines, becoming a space for research and the development of new artistic languages.

A collaboration with FEDEC

FEDEC helps open CRECE to its international network of circus schools, enabling final-year students and recent graduates from member schools to take part in the creative process.

The collaboration gives artists the opportunity to work in a professional environment, meet other young circus artists and experience an intensive collective creation process.

For many artists, CRECE therefore represents a transition between education and professional life: a first immersion into the realities of collective creation, with all its challenges, encounters and possibilities.
