FEDEC & Sziget

Contemporary circus at the heart of the Island of Freedom

Every summer, Sziget Festival transforms Óbuda Island in Budapest into a huge space dedicated to music, arts and culture.

As part of its circus programme, Sziget hosts the Midnight Circus Cabaret.

Since 2025, in collaboration with FEDEC, the festival has opened its stage to young artists from FEDEC member schools. This opportunity allows students and recent graduates to present their acts in a professional setting and in front of a large international audience.

Selected artists join the cabaret programme alongside other performers and present their acts twice during the festival.

An exceptional professional experience

For young artists, performing at Sziget is a unique experience: discovering an international multidisciplinary festival, meeting audiences from around the world and becoming part of a professional programme at one of Europe’s major cultural events.

Through this collaboration, FEDEC and Sziget create a bridge between circus schools and an international stage, enabling emerging artists to gain experience, visibility and confidence.
