Auditions – Professional training courses specialising in the Flying Trapeze.

The CIAM is now opening applications for its 2026/2027 professional training programmes dedicated to the Flying Trapeze.

These auditions are open to flyers and catchers who wish to strengthen their technical skills, develop a safe professional practice, and meet the artistic and technical standards of the live performance sector.

Two artistic pathways:

🎪 Professional Training Programme – Mastering the Fundamentals of Flying Trapeze
📅 16 November – 18 December 2026 · 110 hours · 5 weeks
A programme designed to consolidate core technical skills, reinforce safe practice, and provide a first step towards the certified training programme.

🎪 RS7577 Certified Training Programme – Flying Trapeze Techniques and Performance
📅 16 November 2026 – 2 April 2027 · 355 hours · 18 weeks
An advanced programme focusing on technical excellence, artistic interpretation, creative development, and the professional requirements of becoming a Flying Trapeze artist.

✅ Eligible for funding through the French Mon Compte Formation scheme.

2026 AUDITION DATES – CIAM, Aix-en-Provence (FRA)

• Monday 20 July
• Friday 28 August
• Wednesday 16 September
• Saturday 10 October

Applications are submitted via an application dossier, followed by an audition.

New – Flying trapeze instructor pathway

Designed for those wishing to learn how to support, supervise and introduce a wide range of participants to Flying Trapeze. The pathway consists of three progressive modules:

Module 1 – Flying Trapeze Assistant Instructor
10 hours · €250 · July 2026 or January 2027
Welcoming participants, explaining the structure of an introductory session, delivering safety briefings, and assisting on the platform.

Module 2 – Flying Trapeze Platform Supervisor
12 hours · €300 · March 2027
Ensuring the safety of flyers on the platform, providing emotional support to participants, and managing the bar during flights and catches.

Module 3 – Flying Trapeze Instructor
20 hours · €500 · April 2027
Supporting participants' technical progression, ensuring their safety on the safety lines, and providing technical, structural and historical knowledge of Flying Trapeze.

Practical information

CIAM is Qualiopi-certified for vocational training. Funding may be available depending on each applicant's circumstances, including through OPCOs and AFDAS. The RS7577 certification has been officially renewed, with CIAM acting as the awarding body.
