The core activity of the Association Française pour le Cirque de Demain is the organisation of the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, which has been held every year in Paris since 1977.

The festival attracts more than 15,000 spectators per edition, drawing audiences from Paris, the wider Île-de-France region, across France, and internationally. Its core audiences include circus professionals, specialist schools, artistic agents, circus and cabaret directors, stage directors, educators, choreographers, as well as school groups.

The Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain is not only a showcase aimed at professionals; it is also a major cultural event that continues to captivate and surprise an ever-growing, multi-generational audience.

The association is structured around a board of directors made up of 9 members, supported by one permanent employee, 2 additional staff members on six-month contracts, 1 intern, 1 year-round volunteer, and a team of around 20 volunteers during the festival period.

Missions

The association’s objective is to promote young circus artists, without distinction of gender, race, or nationality, through an international public competition: the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain.

From its very first day, the Festival’s main mission has been to create a prestigious showcase where new circus talents can be discovered and thereby help enrich the entire industry. All acrobatic disciplines, from balancing to eccentric performance, are regularly featured, both to assess their lasting relevance and, above all, to demonstrate their capacity for constant renewal.

Bringing together around one hundred artists every year, performing dozens of acts, the Festival helps make Paris a true hub for many emerging talents. They are admired, and often hired, by professionals from the worlds of circus, dance, theatre, and fashion.

The acts are selected from nearly 500 applications of diverse origins and training backgrounds. Every artist who applies to the Festival is fully aware that presenting their act there is an extraordinary opportunity that can have a significant impact on their career. Driven by the enthusiasm of a unique audience, each performer strives to surpass themselves, giving each evening an exceptional atmosphere.
