Report by the National Assembly on behalf of the Committee of Inquiry into Violence in the Cinema, Audiovisual, Performing Arts, Fashion and Advertising Industries

The motion for a resolution to set up a committee of enquiry into violence in the film, audiovisual, live performance, fashion and advertising industries was unanimously adopted by the National Assembly on 9 October 2024.

The committee of enquiry is chaired by Sandrine Rousseau (EcoS, Paris) and its rapporteur is Erwan Balanant (Dem, Finistère). Its officers were appointed at the inaugural meeting of the committee of enquiry on 22 October 2024.

As stated in the sole article of the motion for a resolution that led to the creation of the committee of enquiry, its purpose will be :

to assess the situation of minors working in the film, audiovisual, live performance, fashion and advertising industries;
take stock of the violence committed against adults in the film, audiovisual, live performance, fashion and advertising industries;
to identify the mechanisms and shortcomings that make such abuse and violence possible, and to establish the responsibilities of each player in the field;
to make recommendations on how to respond.
